Use a Weight Loss Shake to Jumpstart Your Diet

Diet Shakes Can Help You Jumpstart Weight Loss

One of the most difficult parts of losing weight for many dieters is jumpstarting the weight loss process. While diet and exercise are key to losing weight, using a weight loss shake can help you jumpstart your weight loss program . Some shakes are meant to replace whole meals, while others are meant to replace high calorie snacks. The two most popular types of shakes include meal replacement shakes and protein shakes. You can use both to help you lose weight, jumpstart weight loss, and maintain a weight loss.

Using a Protein Shake to Help with Weight Loss

Protein shakes are a type of  shake that, rather than replace a meal, can replace a snack or provide extra energy before a big workout. Most dietitians don’t recommend using protein shakes as meal replacements because they lack the necessary nutrients and vitamins found in meal replacement shakes.

If you’re trying to find enough energy to workout on a daily basis, you may find that protein shakes allow you to engage in a longer and harder workout, increasing your overall calorie loss. The ability to workout longer and harder has been what’s given protein shakes the reputation of being a weight loss shake. While you can use it as a diet shake, it’s best to use it as part of a healthy diet and exercise plan to help you lose the most.

Using a Diet Shake to Replace Meals

When you get tired of dieting and eating small meals, or weighing your food and counting calories, you may want to try a meal replacement shake.  These shakes work because they include all of the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutritional value you need in one meal. When we eat a regular meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the foods include carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and a percentage of unhealthy things like excessive sodium, bad oils that increase cholesterol, and usually a lack of fiber.

With a meal replacement shake, you have everything you need in a filling beverage. Most shake manufacturers create shakes in appealing flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The flavors make you feel like you’re actually indulging in something sweet, when in reality you’re really controlling your calorie intake and helping your body lose weight. It’s not advisable to replace every meal with a shake, as the body needs to digest solid foods, but you might be advised to replace 1-2 meals daily with a weight loss shake for a 1-2 week period of time and see results.

Tip:

Consider a plan with 1 weight loss shake for breakfast , 1 bowl of sacred heart soup with a salad for lunch , and a healthy and nutrition-filled dinner with lean protein, complex carbs, and plenty of colourful vegetables.  Add in 20 minutes a day of activity outside, at a gym, or workout at home…and you could start rapidly losing weight.

Fitness Goals Help You Choose Home Exercise Equipment

Work Out at Home

Investing in Home Exercise can be appealing for people who have busy lifestyles and don’t have the time to get to the gym or perhaps don’t want to pay a monthly membership fee. There are a vast number of fitness contraptions available these days, so do you know how to choose what is best for you? By evaluating your fitness goals as well as available space, you will have a better idea of what to buy for your home gym.

Fitness Goals and Space Availability

The first thing to consider is the space available in your home where you plan to store your equipment and exercise. Often, space availability will dictate what you can buy to help you reach your fitness goals. Measure the area and keep those measurements with you when you shop for fitness equipment.

Your fitness goal will also dictate the type of equipment you purchase. Is your sole goal to lose weight? Do you want to burn fat and tone up? Do you need to increase your cardiovascular activities? Do you want to build lean muscle mass? If you have a specific goal in mind such as a hiking or canoeing vacation, you should take that into account too.

The Best Exercise Equipment for your Home

Losing weight and boosting cardiovascular function could be well served with a Treadmill, elliptical, step climber, or similar home equipment. Many treadmills offer a variety of speeds and inclines but do tend to provide an impact workout. If you have joint pain, non-impact cardiovascular workouts using an indoor cycle or elliptical trainer are best. You might also be interested in a Rebounder and other fitness equipment as well.

Training stations which incorporate weights or resistance mechanisms are a great choice for everyone from beginners to the advanced. These stations will help you work out each major muscle group from your arms and legs to your back and abdominal area. If strength training and building lean muscle mass while burning fat is your goal, an adaptable home gym station is a great choice.

Of course, you should also have some basic home exercise equipment that can easily be stored in a closet as well. A jump rope, resistance bands, free weights and even an exercise ball are great items to include in your fitness arsenal.

Working out in the privacy of your own home is convenient and can be a great way to get started on a fitness journey. It doesn’t take a lot of space and it really doesn’t take all that much time to get started.

Do you have a favourite home gym equipment suggestion? If so, please feel free to share!
