Day 11 of the Idiot Proof Diet: Diet Post Mortem
So yesterday I was done the idiot proof diet. (If this is your first visit here and you’d like to read from day 1, start here.) I finished my final meal and then I sat and had 3 glasses of wine. It should’ve been one glass according to the diet but I was rewarding myself. Maybe it impacted my final weigh in, I’m not sure.
The final number on the scale states that I lost just over 7 pounds in 11 days and a little more than an inch from my waistline. Not bad at all! I want to lose a total of 15 pounds so if I do this diet plan again I believe I can reach that goal easily. Instead of struggling for 2-3 months to lose 1-2 pounds a week, I can lose 15+ pounds in a span of two x eleven day diets where I can cheat for three days in the middle.
Idiot Proof Diet Post-Mortem
So now that I’m done, here’s what I will do differently next time and I think it would help me hit a little closer to 10 pounds:
-Choose more of the allotted foods to get a bit more variety from the online diet menu generator.
-Drink more water. I didn’t exactly follow the rule of 8-10 glasses of water a day which might have gotten me an extra pound or two lost
-Exercise a little. I know you don’t have to exercise with this plan but next time I intend to, in order to see how much more effective it’d be
I wouldn’t hesitate to do this diet again. It really made me look at my diet and the foods that I’m eating far too much of. At the beginning, I was itching for certain foods and today on my first cheat day I don’t even have a craving that I’m aching for. I thought I’d dive into bread as soon as I woke up this morning or devour a can of Pringles but to be honest I don’t think it’d bother me to do another few days of this.
I’m going to do my 3 cheat days and then will do a modified version for a week in order to preserve the weight loss I’ve already had but allow myself to still be able to do some things I need to do that require me to be on a less regimented diet (such as, take my kids Trick or Treating, for instance ) and then I’m going to follow the plan again. I’ll be sure to come back and report on my future results of the Idiot Proof Diet. I believe that doing this a second time will help me hit my goal and then I can see this as a great plan to follow every once in a while once you get off track such as after holidays, etc.
I’m glad I invested the time, money and effort into buying the diet, doing the diet and creating this blog to track my progress and share it with others who are interested in quick weight loss. I plan to keep posting to this blog about issues related to metabolism and weight loss in the future. Just finished reading your journal, and am going to have my son order the program for me when he come in tonight. Here’s a thought for you regarding the sugar in your coffee. Try Stevia. It is an excellent no calorie natural sweetener, nothing artifical. I am sure you have heard of it. It is available at all healthfood stores and some chain groceries as well There is a brand out called stevita which costs about $3.00 for 50 packets. Ingles carries it.

Hi,
Thanks for the comment! I have heard a lot about Stevia but haven’t tried it yet. Recently I thought I heard it was getting some bad press so I was a little unsure. I’m going to do some more research and thanks for mentioning it! I hope you have great success with the diet. I’m just about to start my round # 2 of it! Kindly let me know how you do!
Thanks

PS, Rilla, does it taste the same as sugar? Even before I swore off aspartame and sucralose for potential health problems, I noticed the funny ‘off’ taste with them.
Interested in your review of the flavour of Stevia.
Thanks

DPrince. I don’t really notice any aftertaste in stevia like you find in the artificial sweetners. I use it in tea mostly, both hot and cold. I’ve tried it in oatmeal but it doesn’t sweeten the oatmeal like sugar does. I didn’t get to order the program yet since my son was only at the house for a couple of hours and he had just purchased a new computer which he wanted to play with. He said he would order it at his house but I pointed out that it has to be on a computer that I can access so I can use the generator. Can you use paypal to pay for it? Please let me know. Thanx Rilla

Hi Rilla,
Thanks for the info about the Stevia. I’m going to try it.
I ordered the program on Paypal, myself so it does work. You set up a username and password to download the ebook and the diet generator and you can log in again later if you want to generate a new menu. You can print out the menu for the 11 days so you don’t need to access it daily.
Hope that helps
Dana
