Today is day 4 of the Idiot Proof Diet.  To read my journal from day 1, start here.  I’m now 1/3 done and today I feel fantastic.

I downloaded the Calorie Shifting / Idiot Proof Diet from this link and am journaling about it in this blog because I know that journaling about weight loss can help you get through it and track your calories and also because I know that for me personally, whenever I am thinking of trying a new diet I take the time to research it first so hopefully others considering this diet will find my diet journal helpful.

October 17:  Day 4 of 11

Today I’m feeling energetic and healthy and I’m enjoying the food on today’s menu. I’m eating nuts and oatmeal and lots of colourful vegetables today and for dinner tonight the online diet menu provides scrambled eggs and cheese, which I’m really looking forward to since I haven’t had cheese in FOREVER (ok, probably 5 days but it sure feels like forever!)

Junk Food Cravings

Last night I didn’t even crave junk food. I had a smoothie at about 10:30 for my final meal of the day and it filled me up and my tuna salad for dinner was quite tasty. I think I got a little on the full side though and a rule of the diet is to eat until satiated but not stuffed so I have to be careful. It was nice to feel full and most of that fullness probably came from the big glass of low fat milk I drank with my meal.

Today is a gorgeous fall day so I’m going to take a nice brisk walk before going grocery shopping for food for the weekend. Last night I was even able to help my husband cook dinner for him and the kids despite my suspicion that I would get too hungry smelling the rice and pork chops. I was absolutely fine!  My tummy was rumbling last night in bed but I didn’t feel hungry.  I chalked it up to working hard so told it to go ahead and finish digesting that smoothie and, “While you’re at it, burn some fat, will ya?”

The scale probably hasn’t moved since yesterday at 2 pounds although it may have moved a 1/2 a pound lost but I’m not deterred. I should’ve bought a digital scale to track precise numbers closely but I’m still feeling confident and perhaps we’ll see another pound down tomorrow which could put me on track for the 9 pounds in 11 days.

Total calories: 1479

% Carbs:27%

%Protein:17%

%Fat:56 %

*Note, the diet doesn’t restrict your calorie intake and lets you eat until you’re satisfied! Also, today’s fat content came mostly from nuts since they are high fat but are healthy fat. I also bought omega 3 eggs so feel good about the nutrition value of all the eggs I’m eating.
