Today is Day 2 of the 11 day Idiot Proof Diet which is a diet I purchased from this link. I’m journaling about the journey on this blog which will cover various aspects of calorie shifting and tricking your metabolism.
October 15: Day 2 of 11

How am I doing on Day 2 of the Idiot Proof Diet? Today I’m bloated, very bloated! I’ve eaten fruit three times and get to have one deli sandwich for dinner time. Did I mention I’m bloated?
TMI ALERT: I spent a lot of time in the bathroom today.
I wasn’t hungry when I first woke up but made a big fruit salad with loads of different fruit and mixed it with one spoonful of dessert topping and a small container of strawberry yogurt. It was tasty like dessert for breakfast! I also ate a half a grapefruit.
I do know from the Grapefruit Diet that grapefruit can rev up your metabolism and I love grapefruit.
Today I felt hungry and sluggish before the sandwich. I went grocery shopping for more foods for the diet and found myself judging people in the grocery store by what was in their cart (ok, and I was a bit jealous of those buying tortilla chips and ice cream.) The store gives free cookies to kids and my four year old was blissfully unaware of my pain I trudged through the store and he ate his free chocolate chip cookie.
I love fruit but had my son here today eating peanut butter sandwiches and crackers although he was totally into the fruit I was eating also! I realised at 3:00 that I hadn’t had any water to drink all day so I’m sure that contributed to my sluggishness. The calorie shifting diet recommends drinking a lot of water which can help your body do its thing and keep your metabolism going as well.
The Idiot’s Deli Sandwich
I didn’t love the sandwich I ate today. I thought I would but the meat just didn’t taste nice. The sandwich was pastrami, roast beef and ham. 3/4 of the way through I ditched everything but the ham and it still didn’t taste right. I made myself eat it, though since it’s all I can have today besides fruit. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I looked ahead and have a day somewhere down the line where I can only eat vegetables. I’m guessing that one might be difficult kind of like today.
Hopefully tomorrow or the next day I’ll see that the scale move a little and tomorrow does have some stuff on the menu I’m looking forward to.
Not everyone eats the same foods as I have in this journal as the diet generator rotates each time it is generated under your user name and password and based on your personalized foods list.
I did notice that when I had to regenerate the menu due to accidentally closing my first copy, Day 2 was the same in both so I’m wondering if that’s something that doesn’t change. I guess I’ll find out after my eleven days are up but not before my 3 cheat days which I’m already sorta thinking about.
